Hands-on Managing Director

Paul Evans is a Registered Building Practitioner & Master Builder Specialist Contractor - Waterproofer. He has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry in Australia and specializes in commercial & industrial waterproofing projects.

As a Registered Building Practitioner, Paul frequently encountered sub-optimum waterproofing procedures - poorly performed due to inferior workmanship and/or utilizing incorrect materials and often combined with a lack of understanding and knowledge of construction methods.

Paul was convinced the construction industry deserved access to better trained and knowledgeable waterproofing expertise. Consequently when the opportunity arose to become Manager/Director of one of Melbourne's well established and reputable names in the waterproofing industry - Findlay Waterproofing, Paul considered his construction experience would be a great fit with an expert waterproofing company.

Paul is passionate about training and standards within the Australian waterproofing industry and has volunteered much of his own time and service to the industry.

Paul is the current President of the non-profit industry association, Australia Institute of Waterproofing (AIW), previously serving as Vice-President and participated as an active AIW committee member for over 6 years. These are all volunteer positions.

The AIW represents the interests of the total industry in raising the standard of waterproofing in Australia by becoming the 'central source' of knowledge, augmented by members experience to mentor continuous change.

As President of the AIW, Paul has been instrumental in designing together with the Master Builders Victoria (MBAV) the training program “Waterproofing in Construction Course" which started in 2017.

The MBAV “Waterproofing in Construction Course” Training Course is aimed at industry professionals who have a responsibility to ensure a construction project is water tight and intended to educate with respect to planning, design, selection of products and waterproofing application.

Paul has recently worked and consulted with the Victorian State Government’s Building Authority (VBA) –Regulations Sunset Review 2017.

This is a review process taken every 10 years by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning of current building regulations to ensure that these regulations remain efficient and effective and with options to develop new regulations.
